Apple continues to make changes to one of the most important features of iOS 16: the option that allows users to view the battery percentage in the status bar. The second beta of iOS 16.1as discovered MacRumorsnow offers a new preview that makes the padding of the battery icon match the percentage of the battery.
Until now, remember, if the user activated the percentage of the battery, the icon of the same always appeared as full, regardless of whether the autonomy was, for example, at 30% of its capacity. This, in fact, is something that many users have not liked, as it can be somewhat confusing and visually unattractive.
iOS 16.1, however, makes the battery fill match the percentage as well. So if, for example, the battery is at 80%, the padding of it will be shown partially empty, leaving a small blank space to simulate that it is at that capacity. Apple will also no longer display the lightning bolt icon when the battery is 100% charged, even if the iPhone is still connected to power.
iOS 16.1 will also bring battery percentage to iPhones that were previously unsupported
iOS 16.1 also brings another important change related to the percentage of the battery on the iPhone: support for those models in which the option was not available to activate. iOS 16, specifically, allows you to activate the battery indicator in the status bar only on iPhone X, Xs and Xs Max, iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max, iPhone 12, 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max and iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max. The iPhone XR, iPhone 11, iPhone 12 mini, and iPhone 13 mini, on the other hand, don’t support this feature.
With the new version, which could be available to all users in the coming weeks, Apple will implement the option in settings in the mentioned older models with Face IDso any user can activate it if they wish.
The battery percentage of iOS 16, remember, is activated through the system settings. It is only necessary to access the ‘Battery’ section and activate the option called ‘Battery percentage’. It is also possible to see the level of autonomy by accessing the control center or through widgets.
