Apple may be planning to make the jump to OLED panels on its iPads and MacBook laptops, but it would be with LG rather than Samsung.
OLED screens seem to be the pinnacle of audiovisual quality in devices and that is why the big manufacturers try to integrate these panels into their equipment. Apple is one of these manufacturers and, the truth is that it ishas always been reluctant to use technology from other companies.
And, it is that, for them to be able to make use of said technology, it has to meet maximum standards at a general quality level. But what happens is that, many times, years have to pass for this to happen and, meanwhile, the competition evolves remarkably in comparison.
It may be for this reason that Apple devices such as the iPad or MacBook computers are not betting on OLED screens, while their mobile phones like the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max do. But there would be good news at the end of the tunnel and, that is, It seems that these teams would end up with OLED screens.
The latest rumors that have emerged highlight that Apple would be considering having this type of technology both in its most famous tablets and in its laptops. Yes indeed, the most interesting thing would be that the supplier of these screens would be LG instead of Samsung.
These rumors come from the international medium The Elec, in the publication they comment that it is possible that LG will start supplying panels to Apple so that they change the technology of their screen and bet on OLED in these devices. Of course, it would not be a sudden change.
In fact, what would have been talked about is that the transition that would be made by Apple to these OLED screens would be three years. Come on, we would have to wait until 2025 to see an iPad or a MacBook with an OLED screen. This has a lot to do with Apple’s current use of the Mini LED and Retina.
At the moment all this is just rumours, but we already know that if the water sounds it is for something. We will have to be attentive to see if this movement by Apple ends up becoming a reality or if, instead, it remains up in the air like any of the leaks discussed to date.
Time is the only one that has the answer and, the truth is that with Apple everything is secrets and surprises until almost the official presentation.
