Apple has already launched three new Macs so far this year, including two new laptops with a new processor: the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air with the M2 chip, and a Mac Studio with M1 Max chips and an even more vitamin M1 Ultra chip. These, however, are not the only teams that the company could announce this year. Rumors have long been anticipating the possible announcement of a renewed 27-inch iMac, as well as an improved Mac mini with an M2 chip and, as Mark Gurman recently shared, of Bloombergalso new MacBook Pro with M2 Pro and M2 Max.
The journalist has revealed in his weekly newsletter that Apple plans to announce these two new 14-inch and 16-inch models. during this autumn or, at the latest, during the spring of 2023. Its commercialization, yes, is an unknown, as the company continues to face different problems in its supply chain.
The new MacBook Pro, yes, would maintain the design and specifications of the current models. It is something that makes special sense if we consider that the Cupertino firm has just completely renewed them. The only novelty of weight, therefore, will be in the inclusion of the new processors.
14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros launching in 2022 or early 2023, specifically, will include the M2 Pro and M2 Max chips, which will be a renewal of the current M1 Pro and M1 Max; the company’s most powerful processors to date. The M2 Pro and M2 Max, in addition, would arrive to improve graphics performance, just as the M2 chip that is included in the MacBook Air and the new 13-inch MacBook Pro has done.
The 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros would not be the only ones to arrive with the M2 Pro chip
The 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros would not be the only models to arrive with the M2 and M2 Pro chips. leakerthe company could also include this SoC in the 12-inch MacBook Pro which could be released soon.
Interestingly, Mark Gurman revealed that the company is planning to announce a 12-inch model during 2023 or 2024but was unable to find out if it was a standard version, and therefore would include Apple’s base processors, such as the M2, or would be a more compact ‘Pro’ version of the 14-inch and 16-inch models.
This fall, Apple could also announce a new macpro. It is, in fact, the only team left to take the step towards Apple Silicon chips. We also expect to see a redesigned Mac mini and an improved 27-inch iMac; probably also with Apple’s ‘Pro’ chips.
