tech news desk, Fraudsters have found a new way to steal your money. An employee of Indian e-commerce company Meesho claimed that he received a text message from the CEO of the company, which is probably a big deal for any employee. However, employee Shikhar Saxena raised doubts on this message after looking carefully.
Actually, Saxena said in a tweet, ‘He received a fraudster’s message in which his boss’s DP was attached. Talking about the content in the message, it started with ‘Hello’. However, the scammer then wrote, ‘I am currently on a conference call with a client and I need to present something to this client. Can you make this purchase from Paytm? I will take revenge for this.
Luckily, Saxena didn’t fall for the hoax and says “messages from CEOs” are a whole new form of fraud in the startup world. In this tweet, people working in many other companies have also told that they too have received a similar message. Another user (@ankitgwrites) has also given similar information about fraud, from which it can be estimated how active these scammers are.
Not only this, people are also being cheated through WhatsApp messages. One user recently received a message that “My name is Anita and I am talking to HHR Careerbuilder Limited India. Our company is recruiting some people for part time job. You can do this in your spare time And it takes 10. 15 minutes a day, in return you will be paid Rs 800 to Rs 1,500 per day.
