Microsoft has taken a big step in the field of artificial intelligence. It has built a supercomputer that can help OpenAI to develop more advanced and capable chatbots. According to Bloomberg, the Redmond company invested hundreds of millions of dollars in this project, which is based on the Azure platform and Nvidia GPUs. The goal is to offer a powerful AI infrastructure and scalable that allows OpenAI and other clients to train larger and more complex models.

Microsoft’s supercomputer is one of the most powerful in the world and can reach very high temperatures. To do this, use thousands of GPUs connected to each other via a Quantum-2 InfiniBand network. This network allows fast and efficient communication between the nodes of the system. Thus, OpenAI can take full advantage of the AI capabilities of tools like ChatGPT and Bing.

The new OpenAI-based Bing used an entire network of computers

ChatGPT is a chatbot based on the OpenAI GPT-3 model, which uses deep neural networks to generate coherent and natural responses from text or an image. Bing is Microsoft’s web search engine., which also uses AI to deliver relevant and personalized results to users. This is based on GPT-4.

“We saw that we would have to build special clusters focused on enabling large training workloads and OpenAI was one of the first test points for that”says Eric Boyd, corporate vice president of Azure AI, in a statement. “We worked closely with them to learn what were the key things they were looking for when building their training environments and what were the key things.”

Microsoft is not the only company that is committed to artificial intelligence. Google he also has his own project called Bard. Which consists of a chatbot capable of writing creative texts such as poems or songs. Bard uses Google’s T5 model, which is also based on deep neural networks. Generating texts from a word or a phrase.

Both Microsoft and Google show that artificial intelligence is a field with great potential and practical applications. However, it also poses ethical and social challenges that must be addressed responsibly and transparently.
