In Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 12 range, the Pro Plus model is the best off of all. With its 120 Hz Oled screen, its 120 W charge and its powerful processor, it has everything to please, especially now that it costs 280 euros compared to 500 euros initially.

Xiaomi’s Redmi range is renowned for its excellent value for money and by presenting its Note 12, Xiaomi wants to go even further, particularly with the Pro Plus which is also the most premium of them. Quite far from the known low price of the Redmi series, this model presents more advanced characteristics than its colleagues, and currently benefits from a 220 euros discount. A good opportunity to have the best, without paying a high price.

Where to buy

The most premium of the range

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus has a relatively common, but effective design. We appreciate the presence of a glass back which gives a better grip in the hand. One of its real strengths is its comfortable 6.67-inch OLED screen refreshed at 120 Hz and in Full HD+ definition. During our measurements, the brightness peaked at 799 cd/m2 and a nice Delta E. This is one of the best possible experiences for a smartphone of this price.

Another strong point of the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus, its Dimensity 1080 chip: it offers good fluidity on a daily basis, whether for using your applications or multitasking. It also allows you to play 3D games with an average graphics level and avoid slowdowns. Please note that you must be careful of the heat which can quickly rise.

A durable smartphone, which struggles in the photo

To take advantage of this, the Chinese firm does not forget to equip its Redmi Note 12 Pro + with a 5,000 mAh battery. As a result, the phone is capable of lasting a day and a half, and can even reach the end of the second day with energy saving mode. The real plus is its compatibility with 120 W charging. It allows it to go from 10% to 100% autonomy in less than 30 minutes – a very good score for the price.

Let’s conclude on the photo part, if this version consists of a 200 Mpx wide-angle main sensor, it offers decent shots, but not impressive either. Especially since the level of detail is a little lagging and the HDR mode is sometimes capricious. Normally, you take 12 Mpx photos with the pixel binning to save memory. In 200 Mpx mode, you have much more detailed shots, but the quality does not match a Galaxy S23 Ultra or a Xiaomi 12T Pro either.
