When using our vehicle on the road, we must be careful to respect all traffic regulations, to check that our vehicle is in perfect condition to be able to drive it and to carry the necessary documentation.
And since this month of March, the DGT forces us to carry three documents with us when we are driving at the risk of getting a fine if we cannot provide them in some type of traffic or police control.
Thanks to the latest reform of the traffic law, an increase in sanctions was introduced, especially with regard to the withdrawal of points, and also the obligation to carry three documents when we are driving.
Specifically, the three documents that you must carry when you are driving your vehicle and that require the DGT it is the driving license, the circulation permit and the ITV card, although it is no longer required to carry the insurance or the payment policy.
Of these three documents As we have told you, the driver’s license is not required to be physically carried as it can be shown through the miDGT application, although if you have a physical one it is recommended in case the application fails or you do not have a connection at that moment.
It is one of those changes that the new traffic law and that it has tightened some sanctions, especially with regard to the greater loss of points and not so much to the economic amount.
Severity of fines
As our autobild colleagues remember, fines can be considered light, serious and very serious.
The fines minor are those that fail to comply with the obligation to be able to control the vehicle. Serious fines are those such as driving with a precautionary license suspended, parking in cycle lanes or lanes or carrying radar detection devices, even if we do not use them.
The most serious fines are those such as using unauthorized intercommunication devices in exams, throwing objects onto the road that could cause accidents or fires, or failing to comply with the regulations on assistance on public roads, among others.
