Many of us were waiting for the new generation of the Redmi Note 12 and, almost six months after its presentation in China, we already have them available in Spain and they come with an interesting novelty: the Redmi Note 12 with 4G connectivity.
In this case, both terminals are already available for purchase in the main sales channels of the brand in our country for a price that starts from 279.99 euros for the Redmi Note 12 5G and 229.99 euros for the Redmi Note 12 although, as usual, they have an Early Bird period in which we can buy the latter for a little less money.

The economic mid-range of Xiaomi wants to give a lot of war in this 2023
Aesthetically they do not have much to envy their older brothers, the Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G and Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G, in fact, they are really similar. Xiaomi has decided to maintain the aesthetics that we have already seen implemented previously in the POCO X4 GT although, in the case of these input devices, the construction is entirely in plastic.

In addition to this already characteristic aesthetic within the Xiaomi catalog, the brand has decided to incorporate different colors for each of them, with special emphasis on the colors forest green or mint and ice bluewhich make the devices have a really nice presence.
For the rest, both terminals are exactly the same, maintaining an infrared sensor at the top, a 3.5 mm jack socket, a fingerprint sensor on the side and even a very well used front part with that hole on the screen that we see in the rest of the brand’s devices.
When it comes to finding differences we have to go to the internal hardware of each one. In this case, the new Redmi Note 12 5G has opted for a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 processor, while the 4G version mounts a Qualcomm Snapdragon 685a slightly more powerful chip but lacks that 5G connectivity that many users will miss.
On the other hand, the Redmi Note 12 5G can reach configurations of up to 6 GB of LPDDR4X RAM, the 4G model staying at 4 GB and storage of up to 128 GB UFS 2.2 although, luckily, both can expand that memory via micro SD up to 1 TB and enjoy a larger amount of internal memory available to store data.
Their batteries are also identical, which offer a capacity of 5,000 mAh and fast charging of up to 33W with the charger included in the boxsomething similar to what happens with their screens, since both equip a very good 6.67-inch AMOLED DotDisplay panel with Full HD + resolution and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz with up to 1,200 nits of maximum brightnessscandalous figures for smartphones of this price.

Finally, something that has caught our attention is that these devices arrive with MIUI 14 installed from the factory, although only the 4G model does so together with Android 12, something that will surely be corrected with an update as soon as possible. In addition, we also find slight differences in their cameras despite the fact that both the Ultra wide angle as the macro sensor and the front camera are exactly the same.
In this case, Xiaomi has decided to incorporate a 48 MP main sensor with f/1.8 aperture in the Redmi Note 12 5G, while the Redmi Note 12 mounts a 50 MP main sensor with f/1.8 aperture. For now, it is not certain which of the two will provide better results, but it is curious that the cheapest model has a sensor with a lower resolution.
Price and availability of Redmi Note 12 5G and Redmi Note 12
As we mentioned at the beginning of this post, both the Redmi Note 12 5G and the Redmi Note 12 will be available starting today through the main Xiaomi distribution channels in Spain. Regarding their prices, they are established as follows:

- Redmi Note 12 (4+128GB): €249.99
- Redmi Note 12 (4+64GB): 229.99 euro
In addition, as is usual in this type of launch, you should know that the Redmi Note 12 will have a special Early Bird discount from March 23 to April 5 in which we can get its 4 + 64 GB variant for only 199.99 euros through the official website of the brand in Spain and from March 27 to April 5 on Amazon and Pc Componentes.
