It seems that Xiaomi has set out to surprise us with new members of the Redmi Note 12 family that no one expected to hit the market. Although a few days ago we told you about the arrival of the new Redmi Note 12 Pro in Spain, today it was the turn of the Redmi Note 12S, a device that For now, it has only appeared on the brand’s Global website.
And this what it does is that even we do not have available the date of commercialization or the final price that it will have once it arrives in our countrybut at least we have the certainty that it will become a new member of this populated family, which does not stop presenting new variants in the Global market.

A design according to that of its brothers and more than interesting hardware
As you can see, this new Redmi Note 12S maintains to a greater extent the design of its brothers although, in this case, it has been added a black color to the rear camera module which gives it a unique touch that reminds us a lot of other phones like the POCO X5 5G.
We will find one of the big changes on its screen, since this is the first member of the Redmi Note 12 family to incorporate a smaller panel than the usual 6.67 inches. In this model we have a 6.43-inch AMOLED panel, refresh rate of up to 90 Hz and a maximum brightness of 1,000 nitsmore than enough figures to have a very good experience on a day-to-day basis.
On the other hand, the processor that has been chosen for this terminal is the MediaTek Helio G96 which is accompanied by LPDDR4X and UFS 2.2 memory configurations, a more than solvent hardware that will be powered by a 5,000 mAh battery compatible with fast charging up to 33W, a load that we can take advantage of thanks to the charger included in the box.
For the rest, we continue to maintain some usual features in mobiles of this price such as the 3.5mm jack, dual SIM 4G with the possibility of memory expansion via micro SD, infrared port and even, luckily, the latest version of MIUI 14 together with Android 13.
Lastly, note that we are in front of a mobile with a double stereo speaker which is greatly appreciated in order to have a better sound experience and we have a more than solvent camera configuration, which is made up of the following sensors:
- 108 MP main sensor with aperture f/1.9
- 8 MP Ultra Wide Angle Lens with aperture f/2.2
- 2 MP macro sensor with aperture f/2.4
- 16 MP front camera with aperture f/2.4
Price and availability of the new Redmi Note 12S
As we mentioned at the beginning of this post, the new Redmi Note 12S has appeared on the brand’s Global website in the absence of knowing its availability date and official price. We have no confirmation that it will arrive in Spain, although everything seems to indicate that it will after a few weeks, so we will be attentive to any information that may arise in this regard.
