Google has announced several new features for its first Pixel Watch, including some that make it a watch much more suitable for sports.
This Monday, Google announced a lot of new features for its Pixel products, whether smartphones or its watches. In a blog post, the manufacturer revealed the “Pixel feature drop” for March, with software updates that allow the Pixel Watch to become both a real sports watch and to take advantage of functions supposed to give you peace of mind. .
The main one of these new features concerns activity monitoring. Certainly, Google’s connected watch is equipped with the Wear OS system, and as such can allow you to take advantage of numerous third-party applications, including sports applications, but Google’s update reinforces the native functions of the first Pixel Watch.
From now on, as Google indicates, the first generation Pixel Watch will allow you to benefit from a pace training function. Concretely, before starting a running workout, you can specify your pace objective to the Google watch which will then display a small gauge to indicate if you are on target and vibrate if you are going too far. quickly or too slowly. In addition to this pace training, the Pixel Watch will also benefit from a specific training function in certain heart rate zones. Practical for example if you want to train your endurance and not exceed the “zone 2» of fundamental endurance, below 75% of your maximum heart rate.
In addition, Google is also announcing the arrival of automatic activity detection and automatic shutdown of workouts. Functions that were still lacking in the first Pixel Watch, even if automatic pause was already integrated.
Something new to help you relax
In addition to these new training-related features, Google announced the arrival of its Fitbit Relax application on the first Pixel Watch. This application will offer you mindful breathing exercises to relax you.

Finally, as we indicated last January, the Google Maps application has been revised to now allow users to display the stages of their route directly on their wrist.
These new features are not necessarily for users of the Pixel Watch 2, but they will arrive in the coming weeks for owners of the first generation of Google Watch.
