Xiaomi is preparing to introduce a new smartphone to the market: the Poco F4 GT. The smartphone would not be completely new, since it would ultimately be a question ofa simple Redmi K50 Gaming Edition with a new name. Just under two weeks from its release, we already know almost everything about the smartphone.
Launched in China a few months ago, the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition is one of the most successful smartphones from the Chinese manufacturer. Indeed, designed to be perfect for gaming, it uses the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor than the Xiaomi 12 Pro. However, some aspects of the smartphone are quite different from the high-end model to maintain a very low price.
The Poco F4 GT will use 120W fast charging
Like the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition, the Poco F4 GT is expected to come with a 4700mAh batteryand that it is compatible with the 120W fast charging. This is the fastest charging technology Xiaomi currently offers on the market, and can be found on models like the Xiaomi 12 Pro, and even on mid-range smartphones like the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G.
The smartphone will be equipped with a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate. It will be Wi-Fi 6 compatible, and should weigh 210 grams for 8.5 mm thick. Finally, on the back, the smartphone will rely on a three-camera configuration that is much less efficient than Xiaomi’s other high-end models. We will find a 64 MP IMX686 main sensor, an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle sensor and a 2 MP macro sensor. The downside of the device: the absence of optical stabilization (OIS).
The Poco F4 GT will therefore be primarily intended for gamers. As a reminder, the recent Poco X4 Pro 5G was launched from 299 euros in Europe. This new Poco F4 Pro could well start at around 499 euros, given its high-end Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor.
