The Cardano blockchain witnessed significant growth last year, and the increase in the number of wallets holding the network’s native currency ADA has been seen ahead of the upcoming Valid hard fork.
The total number of Cardano wallets has reached 3.5 million! An ascension sign?
On December 24, 2021, the number of Cardano wallets was 2.5 million. Interestingly, over 1 million ADA wallets have been added since then.
According to statistics obtained by Finbold, known for its financial analysis, using Cardano Blockchain Insights data, the total number of ADA wallets in the first week of August stood at 3,500,565.

Considering that Cardano reached 3 million wallets on February 3, Cardano seems to have managed to add more than 500,000 new owners in the last six months despite the crypto market crash.
With the latest Vasil hard fork on the horizon, Plutus Scripts (a Cardano-based smart contracts platform) continues to climb and sees the impact of the September 2021 Alonso hard fork, which includes the inclusion of smart contract functionality, improving Cardano’s scalability and performance.
Specifically, the Alonso hard fork gave members of Cardano’s developer community access to a platform to develop applications related to decentralized finance (DeFi) and programmability.
Currently, Cardano is trading at $0.5429, up 5.33% on the day, according to data from CoinMarketCap.
