Honor has officially unveiled its latest series of Honor 80 smartphones at a launch event today along with the smartphone flagship foldable, the Magic Vs. Honor 80 lineup includes the Honor 80 and Honor 80 Pro, along with a lighter version dubbed the Honor 80 SE.
One of the great novelties that stands out above all in its spectacular 160 megapixel camera. In addition, under the hood we find Qualcomm chips and curved OLED screens. Of course, the light version, the Honor SE, comes with Dimensity 900 and a 64 Mpx main camera.
The Honor Magic VS, the other great presentation of the event, seeks to gain a foothold in the folding market. This scheduled to be released outside of China as well.
Let’s delve into the specifications of the new Honor 80 and Honor 80 Pro and see if they would really be able to find a place in a market as voracious as it is today.
Specifications of the new Honor 80
The basic Honor 80 has a 6.67″ curved OLED panel with a Full HD+ resolution (2,400 x 1,080 pixels)a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a maximum brightness of 1,000 nits.
It has a new Qualcomm Snapdragon 782G CPU, accompanied by an Adreno 642L GPU, up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of storage. The Honor 80 is powered by a considerable drums 4,800 mAh with 66 W fast charging support.

At the rear, it has a triple configuration camera what includes a 160 Mpx primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, an 8 Mpx ultra-wide angle with f/2.2 aperture, and a 2 Mpx macro camera with f/2.4 aperture. The front of the Honor 80 houses a 32MP selfie camera.
This new terminal from the company runs MagicOS 7.0, which is based on the Android 12 operating system, just like Honor’s Magic Vs foldable.

The Honor 80 Pro is the top-tier model in the range and comes packed with a few extra features. Count with one 6.78″ curved OLED panel with 1.5K resolution (2,700 x 1,224 pixels)a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a maximum brightness of 1,000 nits.
Under the hood, the Honor 80 Pro houses a SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 + Gen 1, together with the Adreno 730 GPU, up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of storage. It is interesting to note that the chipset used in this device is a low-frequency version of the one used in other smartphones.

At the back, it has a triple camera module that includes a 160 Mpx main sensor with f / 1.8 aperturea 50 Mpx ultra-wide angle with f/2.0 aperture and a 2 Mpx macro camera with f/2.4 aperture.
The device also packs a large 4,800mAh battery unit with 66W fast charging support and runs Android 12 based on MagicOS 7.0.
Both Honor 80 and Honor 80 Pro are available in four color options: Gloss Black, Wave Blue, Jade Green, and Morning Glow Pink. Both devices are already available for pre-order in China and, like the foldable, they have yet to announce the international availability of the phones, though It will be for the first quarter of 2023.
