The new operating system for Apple watches makes them even smarter. Not only because of the functions it incorporates, but also thanks to some design changes that this version brings with it. Both in terms of user experience and in the field of health, the Apple Watch becomes a much more versatile and complete device.
The home screen is enriched with Widgets
Now with the Apple Watch screen locked, if we turn the digital crown, we will have access to application widgets to consult information in a much faster way. So, we are going to have access to more functions immediately, such as playing music or podcasts, or access to timers or alarms. And without having to access the main application interface.
In addition to widgets, on the screen of any application we will now have access to functions in a much faster way. In this way, the entire design of the screen is used, in terms of the interface.
Sports-specific apps are improved
One of the great improvements that we are going to find in watchOS 10 is that we can now connect the watch to cycling accessories, such as sensors to measure many more parameters, and be able to see them directly on the watch.
This application takes a qualitative leap in terms of displaying information on the iPhone, since we will be able to see all the clock metrics, but on the big screen of our linked iPhone.
But not only cycling lives the Apple Watch. We also have improvements to the hiking app. We are going to have available a compass with cardinal points where we are going to have emergency alerts available, in order to call emergency services much faster. As well as new display modes such as height view and topographic maps.
The sensors of the watch now collect more data from our wrist. Sports such as golf or tennis are going to have much more precision in measurement, such as the intensity of the blows we give.
The health of the Apple Watch improves with the iPhone
Mental health comes to the Health app. Not only are we going to have physical health parameters, but we are also going to have meditation applications to relax our emotional state.
We will also have on hand questionnaires and records on how we feel to have an updated record of how we are on an emotional level. Thus, we will have risk indicators at hand against diseases such as depression.
Eye health is another of the great priorities that Apple has decided to improve. Thanks to the use of the ambient light sensor, we will be able to measure exposure to different types of light. But also, the iPhone and iPad, thanks to FaceID, interact with the watch thanks to the new function screen distancein order to notify a safe distance at which we are looking at a screen.
