Drones have many uses today: they are used to film or monitor homes to make shipments and transport people. But in Sweden one of these unique devices saved a man’s life.
This event occurred in Trollhättan, Sweden, while a 71-year-old man was removing snow from his home. This task caused a cardiac arrest to the man, whose identity has not been disclosed. It was then that his neighbor made use of the Everdrone service to obtain an airway defibrillator and attend to the emergency.
Drones and more drones What is Everdrone?
This Swedish company provides the EMADE (Emergency Medical Aerial Delivery) service with which it sends a drone to attend to emergency situations as quickly as possible before an ambulance arrives at the scene. In this way, the process of rescuing a person can begin, as the service links a doctor close to the events to be able to attend more effectively.
In the case mentioned above, the defibrillator arrived at the scene in 3 minutes and the doctor who assisted in the emergency was contacted thanks to Everdrone’s comprehensive service.
“This is an excellent real-world example of how Everdrone’s state-of-the-art technology, fully integrated with first responders, can minimize access time to life-saving AED equipment.”
Mats Sällström, Managing Director of Everdrone
On the company’s page it is said that these drones provide services to both first responders and organizations that like to make their emergency services faster. They also have a regulation of the air space in charge of their Mission Control Center.
In this way, Sweden is innovating in the use of drones with the aim of saving lives and providing a more effective emergency service in situations that deserve to be attended to as soon as possible.
