The Batman universe is much broader than the Batman stories. To know him better, you have to understand the people around him and the relationship he has with them. Alfred, Robin, Batwoman and the rest of the citizens of Gotham will teach us a lot about the superhero in these series that deal with Batman but without him as the main protagonist.
Although Batman is not the main protagonist, it is his universe and these series are a good option to immerse ourselves fully in it.
Pennyworth
In starzplay You can watch Pennyworth, a series from the DC Comics universe that has two seasons and with the same creator as the popular Gotham. He introduces us to Alfred Pennyworth, the butler of the Wayne household and in charge of little Bruce after the death of his parents. He popular Alfred who you’ve seen in cartoons and movies for years has his own television self and takes us into his life before becoming a butler. Being young, Alfred Pennyworth forms the art of a private security company in a spy story set in the sixties and which has little or nothing to do with the character of Batman but is still a DC Comics series or, at least, a character we met through them.

Batwoman
Batwoman believe in social justice and in sincerity, in always saying what you think. His series takes us to the well-known city of Gotham where Kate Kane is a rich heiress who will fight against all those who want to endanger the city and its inhabitants. With Ruby Rose as the protagonist of the first season and Javicia Leslie in the second, an action series that we can see on HBO with 30 episodes currently available.
Gotham
Gotham was one of Netflix’s greatest hits that premiered more than six years ago but It is no longer available on streaming. At least for now. The small Bruce Wayne will appear as a child and it will all begin with the murder of his parents, Thomas Wayne and Martha Wayne. The murder investigation with Detective James Gordon promising that he would find the murderer and forging his bond with little Wayne, that character we all know and one of the best-known superheroes of all time. Any Batman fan should see Gotham, with five seasons and more than eighty episodes. His life before being the superhero we know but, above all, the role of detective James Gordon facing crime and corruption in Gotham City.
Teen Titans Go
The animation series par excellence if you are looking for DC comics cartoons, superhero cartoons. There are many Marvel shorts and episodes that we can see through Disney+ but Teen Titans Go is the great children’s production for DC fans, Robin and the others. They are the young titans, led by Robin. What the Teen Titans do when they’re not saving the world: children and adolescents in everyday situations, comical and fun situations for the little ones but that have also managed to conquer adults with an intelligent and very entertaining plot. In addition, you can see it on practically any platform and it has its own movie.
Batwheels
This animated series features the classic characters that we all know and who are dedicated to protecting Gotham, but the protagonists will not be Batman, Robin or Batgirl. Yours will be vehicles. A group of cars, motorcycles and flying vehicles with superpowerss, the Batwheels, form a group with which to defend the city from villains who want to cause chaos. With short chapters, this animated series is perfect for little ones to start getting to know the world of Batman and DC while having fun with the stories of the Batwheels.
