An easy-to-install battery-powered camera
The Ring Spotlight Cam Battery is a surveillance camera designed for the outdoors. It will thus be able to cope with the vagaries of the weather since the brand ensures its operation whether it is cold or hot (-20°C to 50°C). Here it is the battery version and therefore does not need to be connected to your existing doorbell wires. A way to facilitate the installation of the camera, which will take a few minutes depending on the manufacturer (between 5 to 10 minutes) and in the box, you will find all the accessories provided.
On the other hand, it will be necessary to monitor the autonomy of the device, but its battery should provide 2 to 3 months of use. You can always get a second battery and alternate while the first is charging, so you always have your camera on.
Intruders in the spotlight
Once underway, the Spotlight Cam Battery is capable of filming in 1080p, with a viewing angle of 140° horizontal and 78° vertical. The rendering is of good quality, and covers a good perimeter thanks to its wide-angle. The camera will also be able to record after dark, with sharp images. It also incorporates two LED projectors (2,000 lumens) which will illuminate the area targeted by the camera, and which will deter intruders as they pass.
Of course, it is able to detect movements and alerts you in real time on your smartphone. From the application, you will be able to customize the areas that you want to monitor as a priority and that you consider more sensitive. The Ring Spotlight can scare off intruders, thanks to its siren (105 dB) that you can program to go off as soon as movement is detected, or start it remotely from the app. You can also hear and talk through the onboard speakers and microphones. It is of course possible to see the live video stream from your phone and listen to what is happening at home, wherever you are.
Finally, Alexa is in the game and allows you to activate the recording directly by voice once the camera is paired with a device serving as a central Hub, such as an Echo Show for example.
