If you have a device equipped with Android TV or Google TV, surely the home screen no longer holds secrets for you and you know how to configure it to your liking. That being said, Google is making changes that might catch your eye, and one of them it affects the design and an application like Google Play Movies.
Also known as Google Play Movies, it had already stopped working on Samsung and LG televisions among other brands and now, following the redesign that alters the tabs on their operating systems, it will launch the “Purchases” tab to access everything we have purchased on Google Play Movies.
All in one tab
Google Play Movies (I will use the terminology in Spanish), changed its name and was renamed Google TV. Also, the movies section disappeared from Google Play so buying, renting, or watching purchased content became a bit more difficult on a device equipped with Google TV or Android TV.
That’s why from Google and after announcing the arrival of 800 free channels to Google TV (first in the United States), has announced a change in terms of design. A new shopping tab coming to Android TV and Google TV.
It is about facilitating access to content in the same way as before with Google Play Movies. A formula for buy or rent movies or series directly from our Smart TV and without having to open any application.
And in case anyone is clueless, from 9to5Google they announce that this message will appear on the screen: “Google Play Movies is becoming Shopping.” A way to warn that Google Play Movies will also disappear from TV.
Google TV is renovating its home screen and it is doing it with changes that include eliminating some of the tabs and improving the offer they make of movies, series and programs and now, through this tab, “Shopping”, you can access the purchases we have made in YouTube or the Google TV app. This new design with the “Purchases” tab will begin to be activated for users in “some countries” in the coming weeks.
