If you bought a cell phone without knowing its storage capacity or you simply don’t remember it, no problem. Fortunately, On both Android and iOS you can know how much memory you have the terminal and even see how much it is taking up.

This is an important key to know if we have to free up mobile storage space, since When it is full we will not be able to install new apps or even take photos. Therefore, that first step of observing the terminal’s memory is key.

3 Even if you don’t occupy it, there will always be a space reserved for the system

How to see the storage of an Android mobile

If you have an Android phone, regardless of what model it is, you will have to go to settings to see how much space is left. For this you have to enter the ‘Device information’ section which is located at the bottom of the settings.

Once there, you will be able to see useful information about the device such as the model name, the processor it has, the version of Android it has and maybe even other information such as the cameras it has. What is important for this task is Look and enter where it says ‘Storage’.

In that section you will see an indication of how much space does the Android mobile have and how much is occupied. In fact, it is usually divided by colors and sections to see it more clearly: applications, images, videos, audios, documents, etc.

How to view iPhone storage

The process doesn’t change much if you have an Apple iPhone when it comes to seeing how much free space it has left. Of course, we find here two ways to see how much memory an iPhone has.

Iphone Storage

The first of them is going to the settings, entering ‘General’ and then ‘Information’. There you should look at the data given in ‘Capacity’, which indicates the total internal memory of the iPhone. In ‘Available’ you will see the space that is free.

iOS Storage

Nevertheless, It is best to enter the settings, in ‘General’ and go to ‘iPhone Storage’, this is where you will find a better division of what is taking up space on the device. Photos, apps, documents, etc. As in Android, by entering these sections you will see in more detail the content that is occupying the most.

If you lack space on your mobile, you have all these services with free storage

Even if you don’t occupy it, there will always be a space reserved for the system

Regardless of what mobile phone you have and how much its internal memory is, it really not all of its space is available to you. A good part is taken up by the operating system, which takes advantage of the internal memory and does not have any separate. So if you have 128 GB, for example, you may “only” have 110 GB to yourself.

On the other hand, and here we specify a little more in iOS, the iPhone has a space occupied by “others.” That goes apart from the operating system and refers to other elements of the system that are generated with the usesuch as temporary cache files.

Luckily, it is possible to delete the cache memory on an iPhone, although that requires deleting the apps (even if they are installed later). In the other operating system it is simpler, since emptying the cache on Android phones is much more intuitive as it has a setting dedicated to it.
