We explain all the interface changes in watchOS 10 so you can learn how to use and get the most out of your Apple Watch.
With watchOS 10 the Apple Watch completely changes its user interface and the way to use it. It’s probably the biggest software leap the Apple Watch has made in its history, and you may have to relearn how to use the watch and its new interface.
The Buttons have now changed their functions, the app menu is different and now the widgets are one of the most important parts of the spheres. Almost everything in watchOS 10 is different, and that’s how you control the new Apple Watch UI.
watchOS 10: all the UI changes

Widgets in watchOS 10
Widgets become part of the watchOS 10 interface and are more important than ever. Can Quickly access widgets from any Apple Watch face and, furthermore, the widgets are automatically reordered to “display timely information that adapts to the user’s context.”
The widgets occupy the lower half of the Apple Watch screen and there are two types: one dedicated to a specific app that displays relevant information and another that works as a shortcut to 3 applications that we can choose from. Although these widgets appear intelligently, we can customize them to our liking.
For To access the watchOS 10 widgets you just have to swipe from the bottom up on the screen or turn the Digital Crown up. From below a new screen will appear with the widgets in the lower area. Here are some things you should know:
- Long press widgets to edit, delete or add more.

On the Apple Watch we have two main buttons, Digital Crown and side button, on the Apple Watch Ultra we also have the Action button. And these buttons have changed their operation in watchOS 10.

By pressing the Digital Crown you will access all applications, As before. Of course, now the apps are placed differently. Instead of having a large mosaic, the apps are now arranged from top to bottom, which makes them easier to find.
Yeah Press the Digital Crown twice to access multitasking with the latest applications opened on the Apple Watch.. By sliding we will access the widgets if we are on the sphere, or we will move through the different menus without touching the screen.
The side button has also changed its functions. Now If we touch it just once, the Control Center will be activated from where you can activate or deactivate some clock parameters. The Control Center is no longer activated by swiping from the bottom as before, since the widgets are now there.
Yeah We press the side button twice, we will access the Wallet app with our Apple Pay cards to proceed with a payment, our movie tickets or our plane tickets.
In addition to these new features, watchOS 10 arrives with many new features and four new watch faces: Solar (analogue), Palette, Snoopy and Nike globe. All of these new spheres come with very attractive effects and dynamic colors.
