YouTube is clear that its platform can be even more intuitive. The company has announced some changes in the interface to make it much more comfortable and manageablealso adding new features that many users requested, such as a greater implementation of the dark mode or improved playback controls.
One of the main novelties of the new YouTube interface is, in fact, the new playback control. From Videos can now be zoomed in to view a specific area of the clip, even when the content is playing. The app will also not move the content away once the user stops making the pincer gesture, as is the case, for example, on Instagram. The video will remain at the set zoom at all times.
The new YouTube update also allows you to move forward or backward in the video in a more precise way. To do this, the user just has to tap on the playback bar and swipe up.
The interface will display a row of thumbnails with which you will be able to search for the specific minute or second. This new function, called Precise Search, is also complemented by the possibility to see which is the most repeated part of the video by users who have also seen it.
New improvements in the YouTube interface
In addition to the ability to zoom and the new playback control, YouTube has added small improvements to some elements of the interface. Dark mode, for example, is now completely dark, and not of a grayish tone. On the other hand, the interface that is displayed when the video is not playing in full screen, now will have a slight gradient with the colors being displayed in the clip. The same thing happens with playlist covers.
Also relocated subscribe buttonwhich will now be displayed to the right of the username, rather than at the bottom.
All these small, but important changes, will arrive from today and for the next few weeks to all YouTube users. The platform, let’s remember, is also implementing the possibility of creating usernames that by the end of the year will replace channel names in most cases.
