There are several cities in our country that have opted for the implementation of a Low Emission Zone (ZBE), normally located in the center of the same or in their historic centers. These areas are intended reduce road traffic of the most polluting vehicles demanding to enter a specific environmental label on vehicles.
Entering these ZBEs without the corresponding label or without the necessary permissions will result in cause a fine to be issued to the owner of the vehicle. The problem comes when you are going to travel to other cities and you don’t know if they have a ZBE and the limitations that apply. This is where an interesting interactive map that has been presented by the Ministry of Ecological Transition where you can see all these areas comes into play.

A map where you can find all the ZBEs in Spain
As soon as you enter the website where this map is hosted, we will find a map of all of Spain with different points. In blue you will be able to find the LEZs that are in process (but have not yet been implemented), and in green those that are implemented. You will simply have to zoom in on these green dots or click on them to obtain information and see all the streets that are affected by them.
This is already relevant, since it will allow you to clearly know where you should not go when visiting one of the cities if you do not want to receive a fine. But in addition to seeing the distribution of the streets, it is also very important know the requirements that are requested to enter or the exceptions required by law. This way you will avoid receiving a fine when entering by accident if you do not know its regulations.
To know all this information, in the upper left part you will find a drop-down menu in which all the ZBEs will be marked. To obtain information about a specific area it is important Uncheck all of them and mark only the one that interests you the most.
The ZBE will automatically be zoomed in and on the right side of the map you will find a lot of information about it. With the tabs at the top you will be able to explore between restrictions and exceptions. In the first tab you will find the requirements that are demanded, such as having a general or specific environmental label (such as zero emissions).
In the exceptions tab All vehicles that this rule does not affect will be found.. In general, access will always be allowed to residents, people with a garage, mopeds or emergency vehicles. Although it is important that you have the necessary permission from the city council.

But in addition to the enabled areas, you can also select those that are being processed. In this case it will be possible to find iInformation on the date on which it is expected to be definitively approved and its implementation. Although it does not show the streets that will be affected until it is fully approved.
