In recent days, so many details about the new iPhone 15 are appearing that we can almost get a very rough idea of what they will finally be like. And that is what a popular insider, quite accurate in his approximations, wanted to try: imagine what the final version of the company’s new flagship will be like.
Already filtered its LiDAR sensor, the size of its bezels or the type of 3nm chipset, the latest dissemination of information points to its own construction. And the slight design change compared to the iPhone 14 seems, to say the least, curious.
A foam iPhone 15 to compare with the previous model
Makotakara has published a long process in which he details how he has managed to get hold of this reliable mockup of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro, using 3D printing techniques. The process, which can also be seen discussed on video, affects four versions that would ultimately correspond to the four iPhone 15 models: the base terminal, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
The 3D mockups have taken into account the latest information about the bumps on the camera and its change in profile, the position of the camera lenses and, more specifically, the new USB-C port on the base instead of the usual Lightning port.

In the absence of a possible iPhone 15 Ultra, all these models come with a visual treatment to imagine what the Dynamic Island would look like, now with a slightly narrower horizontal profile, as well as very reduced frames with minimal bezels and visibly more rounded and curved corners compared to the previous model.
These plastic-printed replicas also show a minimal change in diagonal, just 1mm, which clearly suggests that the iPhone 14 case would not fit the new iPhone 15. Conversely, the iPhone 15 Plus mockup does fit. with the official iPhone 14 Plus protective cases. Even the speaker slots fit perfectly.
The Pro and Pro Max models of the iPhone 15, and always replicating the filtered data, could not use the covers of the previous generation models either, as they are slightly narrower and shorter, although they do fit inside and the power and volume rocker buttons could still be used normally. With this, Macotakara gives us a very realistic and close approximation to what will come in a few months.
