The Mac Pro could be the most powerful in the entire catalog and in the history of Apple, the numbers predicted by Macworld are amazing. This is the probable M2 Extreme chip.
Apple’s next big thing happened with its own chips dedicated to the Mac, mostly, would be an M2 Extreme for the Mac Pro. As dreaming costs nothing, Macworld has composed a theory starting from the M1. It is a long way that was born in 2020 with the MacBook Air, Pro, mini and iMac. Coincidentally, the latest release is the M2 and its next variations are expected.
A Mac Pro so powerful that on paper it would be unique in the world
Apple has correctly segmented its products, just look at the specifications of each Apple Silicon chip to realize. After the M1, the M1 Pro and M1 Max made an appearance in the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro. The icing on the cake was the M1 Ultra that brings Mac Studio to life.
What’s next in Cupertino? It seems that Apple forgot one of the strongest Macs in its catalog. The Mac Pro is the last computer you need to complete the much-touted transition and officially leave Intel. Macworld makes a numbers game with the specifications that the next M2 chips would have.
The M2 Extreme would be more powerful than the Ultra since it would have a 48-core CPU, 160 GPU cores and up to 384 GB of RAM.. It would be absolutely insane for a computer to be able to handle that much power. This forecast could be fully supported by a Bloomberg rumor in which it is ensured that Apple is working on a 40-core chip precisely for the Mac Pro.
A smaller chip in size but plenty of power
On the M2 Extreme chip, it would work under a 3-nanometer process. It would allow a higher density of transistors although it is not fully confirmed that this size will be dedicated for the next M2 series chips. What could be a reality is that this size is seen first on Macs than on iPhone 15.
What does the Mac Pro gain with the new chip? Only the 28 computing cores currently offered by Intel would be exceeded. It could be 20 or 40 variations of these cores made up of 16 or 32 high-performance and 4 to 8 high-efficiency. Options of 64 or 128 cores dedicated to graphics.
This end of the year would be key to the launch of Apple’s remaining range of M2 chips. It only remains to confirm soon if Apple is working to launch the Mac Pro sometime in 2023it is in question if it is decided to launch new equipment through a press release this month.
