After the departure of Donald Trump from the White House, one would have thought that the trade war that raged between the United States and China would end and that companies like Huawei would finally be able to breathe. Obviously, this is not the case. Tensions between the two countries continue to intensify with this time the FCC which could ban the marketing of Huawei and ZTE products on American soil.
Huawei and ZTE soon on the blacklist?
This is information that was revealed only a few hours ago, the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) expressed the hypothesis of a permanent banishment Huawei and ZTE products in the United States. The argument put forward is always the same, the government of Joe Biden fears that China is monitoring American citizens through these two companies which officially do not have the right to report breaches of the privacy of their customers if it is the government of Xi Jinping which is at the origin of a request.
This possible prohibition would intervene in a document having the name “National Security Threat Protection for the Communications Supply Chain through the Equipment Authorization Program”. Even if the United States does not really have proof that China control Huawei and ZTE and carries out mass surveillance on Americans, the FCC prefers to play the card of vigilance.
For the moment, the ban on the marketing of products from Huawei and ZTE is not yet in force.
On the side of the two Chinese firms, we continue to assure that the Chinese government Do not intervene in the activities in the United States, but these speeches do not manage to convince the Biden administration, as it also did with that of Trump.
