Three major Chinese manufacturers of Android smartphones have announced an initiative to facilitate the transfer of data from one device to another.
Acquiring a new smartphone is always a bit exciting. But before taking full advantage of its device and all of its features, you have to go through thedata migration step. If in the Apple ecosystem, the operation is (theoretically) painless, it is not so in the Android universe. The various manufacturers are keen to impose their own solution, more or less effective, but the result is that the experience is not always satisfactory. Everything is simple as long as you migrate between devices of the same brandbut otherwise, the experience can quickly become frustrating.

Until now, Vivo, Oppo and Xiaomi made it easy to migrate contacts and photos from one device to another. On the other hand, for other documents, applications, accounts and other histories, it was more complicated. The Mutual Transfer Alliance, a group of companies that Samsung and OnePlus also belong to, has announced that data transfer will be even easier and complete from one Android smartphone to another, from an Oppo Find X 5 to a Xiaomi 13, for example, as long as both devices are from one of these Chinese brands.
Migration between smartphones from Vivo, Oppo and Xiaomi is going to be much easier
Google did try to smooth out the migration experience from one Android device to another. The initiative has so far been unsuccessful. No one has yet found the ideal formula. If the Mutual Transfer Alliance has its way, it could be joined by other smartphone makers. That said, according to Gizmochina, it’s not even certain that this feature will cross the borders of the Middle Kingdom.
Companies would be wrong not to offer this feature to international customers. Remember, however, that Samsung, the world leader in the smartphone market, is also part of the Alliance. It is therefore a safe bet that all owners of Galaxy smartphones will soon enjoy the possibility of easily migrating from one Android device to another.
