Tech News Desk – Once again this bug has come on Twitter and this time due to this bug some users are seeing deleted tweets back on their profile. Some users are also seeing re-tweets. However, no statement has been given by the company on this yet. James Vincent, senior reporter for The Verge, told via his Twitter account that he was seeing deleted tweets back in 2020. He wrote that when I opened my Twitter account this morning, I found that the old deleted tweets are back.
Open-source developer and former CTO/chairman of Smoothwall, Richard Morrell, sharing similar woes on Mastodon, writes that last November I deleted all my tweets. Along with this, all likes, re-tweets and media were also deleted. In this way a total of 38,000 tweets got deleted from my account. But this morning when I checked the account, I found that around 34,000 tweets have come back. According to ZDNet’s report, Morel said that so far more than 400 people have told him that they too are looking back at their deleted messages.
Twitter engineer said this
Twitter’s former site reliability engineer said on the matter that it appears as though Twitter moved a large portion of servers between datacenters and did not properly adjust the topology before reintroducing them into the network, which led to outdated Data is coming back. Note, officially no information has been shared by the company about this yet.
