The smartphone, launched in 2014, represented for Apple more than just a new generation of iPhone. Actually for the company now led by Tim Cook, it was one of its most lucrative devices, which managed to break records.iPhone 6: Is your final goodbye approaching?
What is happening with Twitter now is nothing more than an indication that adds to a trend already marked by Apple. iPhone 6 is the last iPhone not to receive OS updates since 2020.
Recently, it was announced that iPhone 6s and later can be upgraded to iOS 15 if owned. The iPhone 6 did not make this list even though it was released at the same time as the 6s version.
As stated by Apple Insider: “Apple prides itself on being a device manufacturer that creates quality products that can last for years of use, and remaining iPhone 6 owners are testament to that. However, with each new operating system, a device will lose its shine and begin to show signs of aging.”
