The story follows Betty, who has dedicated her entire life to studying, being the pride of her parents. However, her unattractive physique was always an impediment to finding a good position, until her arrival at Ecomoda where little by little she became the right hand of Armando Mendoza, who without thinking about it would see how Betty became someone indispensable for his working life and staff.
Since its launch in 1999, the story created by Fernando Gaitán has been adapted in more than twenty countries with different languages, the best known being the Mexican adaptation entitled La fea más bella and the American series Ugly Betty, produced by Salma Hayek.
