If you think that you are not getting the most out of your iPhone, then you are in the right place. Because with today’s article we want to open your eyes to new functions of your iPhone that you have surely overlooked.
Visual Look Up, all the information about your photos
This function allows us to obtain information from our photographs about the objects that are in them, such as animals, plants, books, landmarks, brands, etc. To use this function you just have to open a photo and touch on the information icon. Normally this icon appears with stars when the function has been able to identify something in the image.
In addition to providing us with information about the subject, it also displays similar images, details, and the ability to access web pages with more information.
This feature is only available for iPhone devices that have an A12 Bionic chip or later and is available in English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish.
Device Separation Alerts
Separation alerts is a feature that was recently added to the ecosystem via the app Look for. This function allows us to receive a notice in the form of a notification when we move away from some of our devices such as AirPods, Apple Watch or iPad. Upon receiving the notification, if you tap on it you will be redirected to the application Look for where you can see the map with the current location of the device you have left behind.
To activate or configure this function go to the application of Look for on iPhone and select the device for which you want to receive separation alerts. Now check the option Notify in case of forgetfulness. On the same screen, you can add locations where you don’t want to receive notifications, such as when you leave your device at home and go somewhere. In that case, there is no point in receiving the warning notification because you already know that the device is in a safe place and that it is controlled.
Scan the text of any photo
This function is one of those that we may not always remember that we have, but it is one of the most useful. Apple named it Live Text and it allows us to select the text of a photograph as if it were typewritten text by ourselves and interact with it. For example, in the case of telephone numbers, it allows us to make calls directly or save the number in our contact list. It also allows us to copy and paste simple text, if an address appears we can search it directly on maps and if we have an email it allows us to send an email directly to that contact.
Yes, you read that right, the iPhone mute button is underrated. Surely if you have been using Apple devices for a long time you will not know that most Android phones do not have this option. That is, they do not have a physical button to change the state of your smartphone from sound to silent.
The reality is that having a physical button that allows you to mute or unmute the device whenever we want is very convenient. A super simple and fast way to silence your iPhone when you are about to start a meeting or enter the movie theater.
Security SMS codes that auto complete
When we register on online sites or make payments or transactions, many times the platform sends us a SMS with a verification code that we must introduce as a security measure to verify that we ourselves are carrying out the action and not another person impersonating our identity. Well, on the iPhone every time we receive an SMS notification of this type, the field where we must enter the code is filled automatically. So it is not necessary to go from one App to another memorizing the verification code.
Besides, Since iOS 17 this function is also available for verification codes received via email.
