13 new ones have been discovered applications capable of taking full control of your phone and do whatever they want with it, from installing ads that slow it down to stealing your money. They are very dangerous and we recommend that you uninstall them as soon as possible if you have one on your smartphone. There are people affected in Spain, so you could be one of them.
They have been discovered by the MAfee research team, who came across these applications with Xamalicious malware. Although these were removed from the Google Play Store, you may have installed them and they may even be on the web or third-party app stores, so pay close attention if you install apps outside of the Google store. Be careful because they contain a dangerous virus that could control your phone and do whatever it wants with it.
Most of the infected apps are related to productivity, horoscope, health and games. These 13 apps control your phone
These apps use the social engineering to gain accessibility privileges that allow you to control your device without you even realizing it. When they succeed, they download a payload that has full control of your phone and can install apps, click on ads, steal your money or do whatever they want without you even realizing it.
