Do you dream of sending an sms via your Windows computer as if it were from your iPhone? Intel did it for you! With the new Unison application which will land very soon, it should finally be possible to quickly exchange between an iPhone and a Windows PC. New fantasy or real solution?
Unison: the iPhone and Windows finally hand in hand?
Overall, exchanging messages (SMS) and files between a smartphone and a Windows computer has never been fun. Worse still, communication between the iPhone and a Windows PC is almost non-existent.
This is precisely what Intel wants to improve with its future new application. Called Unison, this Windows application would be able to quickly exchange text and files between an Android or iOS smartphone and a computer.
As surprising as it may seem, it is a rather enormous challenge to achieve given the many failures on the subject in the past. Beyond bringing a cross-platform exchange, Unison on Windows would also allow the user to send SMS to their contacts on iPhone.
No, you’re not dreaming, we’re talking about sending a classic iPhone message, but from a Windows monitor. Note that we are talking about SMS and not iMessage, Apple’s blue messages. The recipient would see the message in green as if you sent it from your iPhone.
On the file transfer side, Unison would finally be the long-awaited tool to quickly send a document or other from your PC to your iPhone and vice versa. Intel seeks above all simplicity and efficiency.
Which computers are compatible?
This is perhaps the negative point of this story. Unison won’t be an app rolling out to all Windows 11-compatible computers. 12th (and 13th) generation Evo PCs as well as those from Acer, Lenovo, and HP will be served first this fall. For the others, Intel has not communicated on the subject.
