Powerful and specialized in photography
The Vivo V40 pro is a twist on the already excellent Vivo V40 phone. The brand adds a rear telephoto lens, improves the processor and further refines high portrait capabilities. All in collaboration with ZEISS, both at the hardware level and in image processing.
The Vivo V40 Pro’s screen goes up to 6.78 inches with the curved edges that we already saw in its predecessor. FHD+ resolution, AMOLED technology, refresh rate of up to 120 Hz and Localized peak brightness reaching 4,500 nits with HDR content playback. In addition, the screen has a hole at the top for the 50-megapixel selfie camera.
In terms of power, the Vivo V40 Pro embraces a more than versatile MediaTek Dimensity 9200+, a SoC that lives up to expectations on paper. It is accompanied by up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of storage. It is compatible with 5G networks, offers NFC for mobile payments and has IP68 certification.
Looking at the rear face, and with the oval module that we already saw in the V40, the new Vivo V40 Pro offers a triple rear camera that amounts to 50 megapixels per sensor. We have a main one with OIS and Sony IMX921, a wide angle and a telephoto Sony IMX816 with OIS and 2x optical zoom. The lenses of all cameras are fine-tuned by ZEISS.
To round off the technological cast, the Vivo V40 Pro has a 5,500 mAh battery, is compatible with 80 W fast charging (the charger is included, at least in India), has an optical fingerprint reader under the screen, offers dual stereo speakers and is partly updated to Android 14 with Funtouch OS 14.
