Unveiled a few weeks ago, the new facelifted Volkswagen ID.3 can now be ordered, but only in Germany for the time being. The opportunity to discover its new prices, from 39,995 euros, down.
For several years, Volkswagen has been working on the development of its range of electric cars, since the brand will have to comply with the will of the European Union, which wants to ban the sale of thermal cars from 2035. A decision which will perhaps evolve under the impulse from Germany, while the project to authorize synthetic fuels is currently being studied. But the German firm seems for its part rather to believe in all-electric.
Less than 40,000 euros
This is how it has just unveiled its new restyled Volkswagen ID.3 just a few weeks ago, which offers a new design as well asa redesigned infotainment system. The latter evolves following the mea culpa made by the brand concerning its lack of practicality. The goal of this new version? Better compete with the Tesla Model 3 and other Renault Mégane E-Tech.
If it has not even been a month since it was officially revealed, a little before the ID.2all concept at 25,000 euros, the electric compact is already available to order. Unfortunately, only our German neighbors can enjoy it at the moment, as the site indicates Electricity. The opportunity, however, to have an idea of the prices of this new version.
As certain rumors announced, the prices have been revised downwards. Well, more or less. For now, only the intermediate Pro version can be ordered on the online configurator. So, it takes 39,995 euros for this variant, equipped with a 58 kWh battery giving it a range of 425 kilometers according to the WLTP cycle. For the record, the price of the old version in the same configuration was 37,790 euros when the car was launched. But in Germany, prices started at 43,995 euros with the old, non-restyled version following various price increases.
In France, we do not yet know the prices, but the old model started at 46,750 euros, since it was the Pro Performance First version, with additional equipment. We also hope to be entitled to this Pro version at less than 40,000 euros.
In any case, the compact should remain eligible for the ecological bonus of 5,000 euros, reserved for cars under 47,000 euros. On the Pro version, you can enjoy many standard equipment, such as 18-inch rims, 12 inch touch screen compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as LED lights. Later, it will be possible to add options directly from your car, as offered by Tesla or BMW.
No bonus for everyone
The German media also announces the price of the Volkswagen ID.3 Pro S, which should cap the range while waiting for a hypothetical GTX version as on the ID.4 and ID.5. It starts at 47,595 euros, a price that now prevents it from being eligible for the ecological bonus. It is still possible that the manufacturer will make a small price adjustment for France in order to remedy this problem.
For that price, customers will be able to enjoy the 77 kWh battery, offering a range of 545 kilometers WLTP and a power of 150 kW, or 204 horsepower. Charging can now be done at a maximum power of 170 kW. Note that the compact does not come standard with a heat pump, unlike the Kia EV6 for example. You will therefore have to check the option to take advantage of it.although this is not always useful depending on the situation.
The ID.3 Pro S is fitted with 19-inch rims as well as “ergoActive” seats but the media does not give the complete list of standard equipment for the moment. As a reminder, this version was billed at 42,920 euros when it was launched, and currently 55,600 euros in the Pro S First Exclusive version in France. A big price increase that we owe in part to the increase in the cost of lithium, although it has now been slightly down for a few days, but also to additional options.
Soon a version for less than 35,000 euros?
The compact also has the Plug & Charge function, which allows you to connect to a fast terminal like those of Ionity without having to identify yourself. Bi-directional charging is also offered on this new version, of which the launch is scheduled for next June.
It is rumored that a cheaper version equipped with a small battery will also be offered later, as sales manager Imelda Labbé told the German daily. Handelsblatt. Should we expect the 45 kWh battery return disappeared from the range since 2021? Nothing can be ruled out at this time. As a reminder, this version was marketed from 34,220 euros in France.
