As we all know that before the local or national elections one has to apply for voter card. In such a situation, it has now become easier to apply for Voter ID card through the online application process. That’s why the Government of India launched the National Voters’ Portal to help with online applications. According to Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation, citizens can enroll themselves as general voters and fill Form 6 online at the National Voters’ Service Portal. How to apply for Voter ID through online portal
You need to visit the official website https://electoralsearch.in/ to check whether you are registered to vote or not. If your name appears on the list, it means you are eligible to vote, otherwise you will need to register to vote or get a new voter ID card. Steps to Apply for Voter ID Card through Online Portal
First of all go to Voter Service Portal – Voterportal.eci.gov.in.
Now if you are a new user then create a login account and if you are an old user then enter your credentials.
Now fill the mentioned form for Voter ID Card.
Form 6 – This form is for ‘First Time Voters’ and ‘For Voters who have changed their Constituency’.
Form 6A- This is Election Card Application for NRI Voters.
Form 8 – Fill this form for change of data or information like name, age, address, photo, DOB etc.
Form 8A – Fill this form to change your address in the same constituency.
Now upload the relevant documents asked in the form and photograph.
Check all the filled details carefully and click on ‘Submit’ after verifying all the details.
