One of the strong points that we can find in the sector today is the competition that exists between certain brands, such as AMD and NVIDIA, both companies offer high quality products, although with very different prices. For a few years now, Intel has also sought a way to join the duel that exists between these two companies, but they still have a long way to go, although their new GPU Battlemage They seem to improve performance a lot compared to the previous ones they released.
There are a lot of technological races between companies to be the first to offer the best possible performance in any component they manufacture, but there are also brands that have their own race to try to get closer to what other companies developed years ago. Intel is at that point where it is really competing against itself, since the dedicated graphics cards they launched, along with the new ones, are very behind in terms of performance, offering a solution only as a low-end or approaching a bit what would be the mid-range.
Intel is not giving up, this will be one of its new dedicated graphics cards
As we know, Intel has not been a company that offers the most innovative technological solutions for quite a few years, mainly because in terms of processors they are increasingly falling behind due to the problems they have and the performance they offer. But this is not the only field in which the company is trying to compete, and they have also been trying for some time to gain a place among users who are looking for a component that offers them a graphic performance greater than that of integrated graphics.
The problem is that the launch of their previous dedicated graphics cards was full of criticism when it was seen that they offered a performance similar to that of the NVIDIA and AMD models from several generations ago, which leaves them in a rather bad position in terms of technological development. Now, thanks to certain leaks, we know what some of the specifications will be that one of the new models of GPU that the company is currently preparing, one of the graphics Battlemage which will improve performance by up to 50% compared to the current generation.
This new card stands out for offering a 192-bit interface and 12 GB of VRAM, something that is quite similar to what mid-range dedicated graphics cards from both AMD and NVIDIA currently offer, but as we can imagine, it probably won’t be on par with an RTX 4070 Super or the RX 7700 XT. This is mainly due to the fact that it has a base clock configured at 1.8 GHz since it offers a total of about 15 TFLOPS, which compared to the 35 TFLOPS offered by the two we mentioned before, makes it quite short in general terms.
This model, as we can imagine, will be one of the lowest priced, but taking into account that it is likely to fall short compared to an RX 6800 or the RTX 3070 Ti, we would have to see if the difference in cost makes it worth opting for it instead of one of these two models of its rivals.
