As the days go by, little by little we are learning more information about this new generation of AMD graphics cards.
Radeon RX 8000 Series Specifications
Various rumors indicate that AMD’s intention is to focus on improving the performance of its next generation, giving way Navi 44 and Navi 48 and forgetting about Navi 21 and Navi 31. Of these new chips, Navi 48 will be the fastest and will be available in the highest-end models, while Navi 44 is focused on the mid-range graphics cards of the RX 8000 Series.
As for the type of memory that will be implemented in our new generation, when everything seemed to indicate that it would be GDRR7which is also expected to be available in the next generation of NVIDIA RTX 50 graphics cards, however, if we pay attention to the well-known leaker Kepler through his X account (Twitter) the RX 8000 series will have GDDR6 memory.

The Navi 48 XTX based SKU will feature 256-bit GDDR6 memory at 20 Gbpsoffering a memory width of 640 Gbps. The Navi 48 XT model will have a memory speed of 18 Gbps offering a bandwidth of 576 Gbps. The Navi 44-based SKU, meanwhile, features 192-bit GDDR6 memory and a memory speed of 19 Gbps to deliver 456GB/s of bandwidth.
As for the Infinity Cache, Again based on rumors, the Navi 48 chip will feature 64MB, available in both XTX and XT versions while the Navi 44 chip will feature 48MB. AMD began using Infinity Cache with the RX 6000 series with Navi 21 chips to improve GDDR6 memory performance.

These graphics cards will have a monolithic design integrating the memory into the GPU itself to reduce latency when using external chips and which results in better performance, especially in games and video editing tasks. Regarding the models that will be part of the RX 8000 Series, nothing is clear yet, but, again based on rumors, everything seems to indicate that they will be: RX 8800, RX 8700 and RX 8600.
Prices and release date
AMD has not yet made any statements regarding the development of new graphics cards with RDNA 4 architecture, so we always rely on rumors from people or media with contacts in the industry.
As for the release date, and the date of its official presentation, if we take into account the figures from Geekbench, everything seems to indicate that this series is still in an early phase of development. If AMD intends to present, but not put on sale, this new range during CES 2025, it has a long way to go to complete the development.
If you are thinking of upgrading your old graphics card for one of these new models, we recommend waiting a couple of months to find out if they will go on sale early next year or if their launch will be delayed a little longer.
