This becomes clearer around the charging speed of the iPhone 15 Pro which, contrary to what some rumors suggested, should not be faster than the iPhone 14 Pro on this point.
Apple would ultimately not have pushed the charging speed on your iPhone 15 Pro. This is what the Japanese media Mac Otakara suggests, which states that the brand’s new most expensive models will not recharge any faster than the previous ones.
iPhone 15 Pro still stuck at 27W
A few weeks before the launch of the iPhone 15, we discussed the possibility of much faster wired charging for the latest Apple smartphones. A speed of 35W was expected for the “Pro” models. Eventually, they would be stuck at 27W maximum, like the iPhone 14 and 14 Pro.
The company seems (too much?) to be playing it safe, at a time when its main competitors are doing better. Samsung’s high-end smartphones, which are however far from being the fastest, charge at 25W for the Galaxy S23 and 45W for the Galaxy S23 Ultra respectively. We won’t have fun comparing it to certain Chinese smartphones which today exceed 200W.
On its website, Apple indicates that all iPhone 14 models can charge up to 50% battery in about 30 minutes with a power adapter of 20W or higher. As a reminder, the 30 W USB-C power adapter which allows you to charge your iPhone “at full speed” costs €45 on the official Apple website.
Status quo also for batteries
Apple would therefore not have taken advantage of the switch to USB-C to improve the charging speed of the iPhone 15. The trend seems to be the same in terms of battery capacity. As we mentioned last week in our dedicated article, the link of which you can find below, the company is renewing, with a few details, the same batteries as on the iPhone 14.
iPhone 15 and 15 Pro: we finally know the battery capacity
Here again, the Apple brand announces identical autonomy on its website. We will therefore probably have to wait for the iPhone 16 to see more significant changes in terms of charging and autonomy.
Remember that on this last point, Apple smartphones are still among the most durable on the market. The Cupertino company therefore had little interest in improving a formula which already works very well and which should not prevent iPhones from selling like hotcakes (luxury).

Tell us in the comments, what is the charging speed of your smartphone? Does this really make a difference to you on a daily basis?
