Much is known about the origins of the Copy and Paste shortcuts, CTRL+C and CTRL+V respectively, but little information about the Undo option. An early version of the latter dates back to 1983, when the Apple Lisa computer made its debut in the computing world.
Larry Tesler, a programmer at Apple, was the one who decided that the Z key and the Apple key would represent the Undo option. According to the medium Dial a Nerd, Tesler explained through a letter why he chose this key. “Z was next to X, C and V on the US Qwerty keyboard. USA But its shape also symbolized the ‘Do-Undo-Redo’ triad: top right stroke = step forward; middle stroke to the left = step back; lower right stroke = step forward again”.
If we analyze it well, it is also a whole philosophy of life that computing provides us to apply in daily life. Remember not to worry because you can undo and do again. Everything has a solution.
