Although some users had already received the tool to create stickers on Android, the company has announced that it has released this function for all users around the world. This way, we will no longer have to use third-party websites or applications to create stickers, we will be able to do it directly from WhatsApp.
The company has also partnered with Giphy, the makers of one of the largest and most popular databases of animated GIFs and stickers, so we can use their library in the app.
This means that With this integration we will be able to have many more GIFs on WhatsAppwithout having to leave the application. The steps to send them are very simple, we just have to press the button to send stickers and perform a search in the GIFs tab or in the stickers tab. We can use words or emojis to perform the search. The Giphy library began to arrive in the beta of WhatsApp for Android a few years ago, but from now on it will be available to all users.
Last but not least, Meta AI, Artificial intelligence available on WhatsAppyou can also create custom stickers directly from the messaging app. However, this feature is initially only available to Android (and also iOS) users in the United States, although it can be used in both English and Spanish.
All of these new features will be rolled out to users via an update over the next few days and weeks, in a progressive manner. Sticker creation via Meta AI should be coming to more territories in the future, but there is still no confirmed date for availability outside the United States.
