WhatsApp is one of the most popular instant messaging applications in the world, with more than 2 billion active users. The platform constantly seeks to improve the experience of its users and is about to implement a new feature that will undoubtedly attract the attention of many. We are referring to “Voice Status”, a feature that allows users to post status updates via voice.
Following updates to video calls (PiP) in February, WhatsApp is starting to roll out this new feature to iOS. If you don’t already have access to it, you should verify that your iPhone is running the most current version of the app. To use this feature, all you have to do is go to the status tab, choose the “pencil” icon and long press the microphone icon to record your status update.
Voice Status is an innovative and creative way to share messages with your contacts. Plus, it’s a great option for those who prefer voice over typing. It is also an ideal option for those who do not have much time to write a long and detailed status update, as they only need to record a short and concise message.
It is important to note that although the new Voice Status is an interesting and useful feature, the messaging app still includes the PiP feature for video calls as new in the latest version updates. Although it reached the first users in February, both PiP and the new voice status “will be rolled out in the coming weeks” to all users.
WhatsApp is also working on other exciting features to further improve the experience for its users. One of them is the message editing feature, which allows users to correct mistakes or delete a previously sent message. It is also in the process of launching an expiring groups feature, which means users will be able to set a time period for groups to automatically expire.
Furthermore, WhatsApp has also recently launched the ability to make your own stickers from photos, allowing users to further personalize their conversations and add a touch of fun and creativity.
