Tech News Desk – Meta-owned instant messaging platform WhatsApp is reportedly developing multiple features at once. WhatsApp is about to release 12 new features simultaneously, which will help Android users to broadcast channel conversations with the new feature. This feature is currently in developing mode and is expected to be available for beta testing in a new update of the app. WABetaInfo has given information about these features of WhatsApp. According to WABetaInfo, the company is working on implementing multiple channels feature to give the best experience to the users once the channels are released.
These features will be available for the channel
These features include a full messaging interface in the conversation, verification status, follower count, mute notification button, handle, actual follower count, shortcuts, channel details, mute notification toggle, visibility status, privacy, and reporting. The report also states that with the help of these features, the company will provide a variety of features for users to explore and use, which will make it easier for users to manage channels.
What is channel?
Actually, WhatsApp channel is a private tool where the phone number and information of users joining the channel is always hidden. However, messages received inside a channel are not end-to-end encrypted because the concept of one-to-many does not make much sense for channels. It is important to note here that channels will not affect the end-to-end encryption of private messaging, i.e. these messages will remain end-to-end encrypted. The report states that it is an optional extension of the private messaging service and is not focused on the public social network. This means that people always have control over which channels they subscribe to, and no one can see who they follow, whether they’ve added them as a contact or not.
WhatsApp will bring new features for groups
Apart from the broadcast channel conversation feature, WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new feature called “Admin Review” on Android. This feature will provide new tools to help group admins better moderate their groups.
