WhatsApp would further improve multi-device
But apparently, WhatsApp does not intend to stop there. According to an article recently published by the WABetaInfo site, Meta is already working on a new multi-device improvement on WhatsApp.
More exactly, according to this media, WhatsApp would have recently released a new beta version of the app. And in this beta, there would be a new section on the multi-device part that would allow you to link a secondary smartphone.
A secondary smartphone for your WhatsApp account
To connect their WhatsApp account to a second smartphone, the user would have to scan a QR code. This is one of the most requested features by users and in addition to smartphones, this feature would also be useful for those who have tablets running Android.
Unfortunately, it is not known when this novelty could be announced by WhatsApp. But in any case, this should allow the app to be even more competitive compared to its rivals, to name only Telegram, Signal, or even iMessage.
Note that recently, WhatsApp has made a lot of improvements to its messaging service. With regard to the multi-device, for example, it has launched an extension for browsers which makes it possible to verify that the code of the web version has not been modified, which makes it possible to guarantee the integrity of the security devices to protect the data.
WhatsApp: a difficult app to compete with
WhatsApp is also becoming more convenient for colleagues or community chat groups. Indeed, with the “Communities” feature which was made official this April, we can have better organized group conversations, such as on Slack or Discord. What’s more, WhatsApp allows files up to 2 GB to be sent, eliminating the need to go through services like WeTransfer to send those large files.
Among the latest additions to WhatsApp are also group calls that can accept up to 32 participants, as well as emoji reactions.
