Very soon, WhatsApp users on iOS and Android will have the possibility to Design and create your own selfies using artificial intelligence to send them to your contacts.

Artificial intelligence has come into our lives to stay and everything seems to indicate that it is not simply a passing fad. The new features that are arriving along with this second AI boom offer great advantages to users in the technological field.

The latest novelty, found by the guys from WABetaInfo in the beta version 2.24.14.13 part of the Google Play Beta Program, includes a feature to generate images with artificial intelligence from portrait photographs, also popularly known as selfies.

The screenshot of this new Meta AI feature describes a major new feature of WhatsApp which is to allow users to Take a portrait photo and use it to generate any AI image with his face.
Take photos of yourself once, then imagine yourself in any environment from a forest to outer space.
In other words, with WhatsApp you can generate images of yourself dressed as an astronaut, a pop star, an Egyptian pharaoh and much more. A very similar function to what this application offers to create AI selfies with film legends or historical figures, only this time everything will be created directly from WhatsApp.
How will WhatsApp’s AI image generation work?
The operation of this new feature for WhatsApp will be quite simple and intuitive. It will be enough to take a photo of yourself to serve as a base so that Meta AI can reproduce other images with your face. You can delete your photos from WhatsApp’s database at any time.
To generate selfies with AI from WhatsApp you will simply have to Talk to Meta’s chatbot by typing a sentence that begins with the words “Imagine me…”. Apparently, the AI feature will also be available in other chats using the @Meta mention.
So WhatsApp users will be able to write “Imagine me as a mobster in a black suit and red tie” and Meta’s artificial intelligence will take care of generating the image with their face. Cool!
