Tech News Desk – The use of air conditioners and coolers is common in most parts of India in summer. With the modern technological development, there are many types of ACs available in the market which are cheap and power saving. In such a situation, people’s interest in buying AC has increased. Air conditioners are available in two main types: Split AC and Window AC. But have you ever wondered why the air conditioner always comes in white colour. Very few people would know the reason behind this.
Split ac outdoor unit remains white
Window air conditioners consist of a single unit and are installed in the window. The unit has a projecting exterior so that it blends in well with the environment. Whereas in split air conditioner the indoor unit which is placed inside the room and the outdoor unit which is placed outside are two separate units. Generally, the color of the outdoor unit of the AC is white, while the color of the indoor unit may be different.
Why is it only white in colour?
White color reflects the maximum amount of sunlight and thus helps in reducing the temperature. White color or light color reflects sunlight or heat. In this case, the heat absorption is less and the AC unit heats up less.
components are not damaged
Being white colored AC units, they heat less. This color affects only their outer protective coat. It has no effect on the heat of the internal components, such as the compressor, condenser and evaporator. When AC units are mounted in the shade, the fact is that they have to do less work to cool down. Being in the shade, the unit is not exposed to direct sunlight, so it cools better and runs less. As a result, it provides more cooling and thus saves you on electricity bills.
