2023 is going to be a year with many changes for the self-employed, since they are going to see how the fee that is paid month by month will be dependent on the net income that they have throughout the year. This new listing system is implemented on January 1 under much uncertainty, such as the way we will have to communicate our income to Social Security. But what we already have in place is a simulator that allows us to know how much we will have to pay.
This simulator has been in preparation for months, and allows you to know the new freelance fee that must be paid without having to identify yourself. It must be taken into account that It will be at the end of the year when the real income is available throughout 2023and therefore a refund of the amount of the installments will be made or the difference will have to be paid.
The simulator to calculate the new freelance fee
Social Security itself affirms that this is a purely informative simulation and that the quotas will be calculated taking into account the income forecast without the corresponding deductions to practice. This is important, because the real fee will be calculated after subtracting the net income minus the expenses. But it can be useful to be prepared for the new quota.
In order to access this calculator, you will have to enter the Import@ass simulator website and you will see a series of options to fill in. The first one is a drop down menu below the phrase ‘What income do you expect to obtain?, where you can enter the annual net income that you expect. In the event that you expect the same income as in 2022, you can simply check your 2021 income and keep the deducted net income box. Divide the value of this box by 12 and choose your fork.
The next step is choose the fee within the income range. Keep in mind that you will be able to select your contribution base and also adjust the difference between the minimum and maximum quota cent by cent. This is interesting if you want to increase your social benefits.

Finally, the simulator will display a table where you can see the quota and contribution base of the self-employed person, taking as reference all the data that has been entered. In the most common example, within the self-employed, if you have an income of 1,475 euros, you will pay 294 euros monthly with a minimum base of 980.78 euros.
In addition, it will also be possible consult what would be quoted for common contingencies, professionals or cessation of activity. These contribution values are really important to subsequently apply the percentages if you want to access a benefit if you are going to take leave due to common or professional illness.

From January 1, 2023 to February 28, Social Security must be informed of the contribution base for which they want to pay taxes. As of that date, payments will begin based on this selection, specifically as of March 1, 2023.
