With this trick you can see the WiFi passwords saved on your Xiaomi mobile if you forget them or do not have them written down

We have so many things on our minds in our day to day that it becomes almost impossible to remember everything, and that also happens when you remember your WiFi password. A password that we either have stored in an application that gives us a hand, or it becomes something easy to forget. Especially if you are concerned about safety and Are you one of those who changes the key from time to time? as part of your maintenance routines.

However, there is a way to “recover” that WiFi password from our Xiaomi mobile if we have already logged into it in the past. Our phone automatically connects to all the WiFi networks it remembers and there is a way to make it return the key to us if necessary. It is true that the process can be somewhat more arduous depending on the Xiaomi model that we have, but broadly speaking it is very similar in all of them.

2 Second method: rescue the WiFi key if we have ROOT access

Make your Xiaomi tell you what your WiFi password is

The first of the methods that we are going to show you is the one that involves the least effort on our part. We will not need to have ROOT access on our Xiaomi or POCO and we will simply have to meet one requirement: have Android 10 or higher installed on our phone. The reason is that there is a function that came with Android 10 that allows us to rescue the password of our WiFi whenever we want.

To be able to do this, we will have to go to the configuration section of our Xiaomi in which the WiFi connection is located and, from there, generate a QR code to be able to share it. We will need to be connected to said WiFi network so that the QR code can be generated, but from there the process is relatively straightforward:

  • We connect to the WiFi network from which we want to recover the password.
  • We open the ‘Settings’ of our Xiaomi mobile
  • We access the section ‘Wifi’.
  • Click on the name of the network to which we are connected, not elsewhere. Neither in the arrow to the right, nor in any other icon. About the name.
  • will then appear QR code that allows other phones to connect to our WiFi network.
  • Said QR code contains two pieces of information: the name of our WiFi and the password, and this information can be retrieved from any QR reader that we have at hand. Another mobile with Google Lens, for example, or the camera of our Xiaomi itself if it has an integrated Lens (an icon at the top of the app).
  • Now we just need scan said code with a QR reader (with our own phone, if we want, taking a previous screenshot), and the two indicated data will be shown on the screen: name of the WiFi network and the password.
  • We will only have to write down the key somewhere safe so as not to lose it again.

Second method: rescue the WiFi key if we have ROOT access

This second method is, as we already said, simpler and at the same time more complex. Easier because, if we have ROOT access on our Xiaomi or POCO, just install a specific application to rescue WiFi keys and it will give us the data we are looking for. Complex because, logically, before we will have had to root our Xiaomi to be able to access this method.

With this trick you can connect your Xiaomi mobile to any WiFi without having to ask for the key

Be that as it may, if we have ROOT access on our Xiaomi or LITTLE mobile, any of the applications that we are going to recommend now will allow us to recover the WiFi password that we have forgotten. These apps are the following:

There is another way and it is using the Root Explorer browser, also available on Google Play. With this browser we will only have to go to the following route of our Xiaomi mobile, data/misc/wifi, and find the wpa.supplicant.conf file. Once located, we open it with any text editor and we will have there the complete list of WiFi networks to which we have connected together with their respective keys.
