Surely some of you who read us regularly remember a mythical product within the Xiaomi ecosystem, the first Xiaomi Mi Watch. This device had the particularity of integrating a system called MIUI For Watch that was based on the latest version of Wear OS of the moment although, unfortunately, it was a smart watch that did not leave the borders of China.
Well, apparently, as we have been able to find out thanks to 9to5Google, the Asian firm is considering the possibility of launch a new Xiaomi Watch that returns to the old ways of its original modelthat is, a device whose operating system is based on the latest version of Wear OS 3 and all the advantages that this entails at the functionality level.
The dream of seeing Wear OS on a Xiaomi watch, getting closer
It is true that today little information is known about this supposed Xiaomi Watch with Wear OS 3, but it is there are some rumors that sound quite strong. For example, it is known that this smart watch will be managed from the My Fitness application, as is the case with other similar products of the brand.
Original Xiaomi Mi Watch
This will not be a problem when incorporating Google applications and services inside with the advantages that this entails in terms of versatilityand it is something that will be combined with a design quite similar to what the brand has accustomed us to with its recent Xiaomi Watch S1 Pro or Xiaomi Watch S1.
Of course, we must take into account a point that can be quite controversial and that is that, as with other watches with Wear OS, these have a considerably lower autonomy than the devices offered by Xiaomi. In other words, we would go from being able to enjoy about two weeks without having to go through the charger to having to recharge the equipment’s battery on an almost daily basis.
This is the great handicap with which we will have to live if this project ends up being carried out, but surely the great versatility that Wear OS 3 brings to a smart watch will make us forget. We are already impatient for Xiaomi to finally present this watch, but unfortunately we will still have to wait a few months.
