Samsung has presented in China the Galaxy W26a luxury edition based on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 that comes with an exclusive design, more memory and a long-demanded function: the ability to make calls and send messages via satellite. It maintains the focus of the W series, limited to the Chinese market by China Telecom, with black and red finishes, gold details and careful construction.
Although it shares the hardware base with the Galaxy Z Fold 7the W26 reinforces the premium profile with 16GB RAM and options 512GB or 1TB storage. It also retains the thin and light body of the current generation (8.9 mm folded thickness and 215 grams), plus a catalog of Galaxy AI tools yy software customization of this series.
Changes compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 7
At the screen level there are no surprises: we continue with an interior panel 8 inch folding and a screen 6.5 inch outsideboth with high refresh rates and current resistance certifications. The main differences of the W26 are found on the exterior: frame and hinge with gold detailsstriated textures and an exclusive selection of colors that give it a jewel-like look. It also adds satellite connectivity for emergencies and coverage in areas without a networksomething absent in the Galaxy Z Fold 7 global.
The processor is the same Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy that we already know in the family, but the W26 configurations raise the bar with 16 GB of RAM as standard. The battery stays on 4400mAhwith the same fast charging and wireless charging of the model from which it is inspired. The main camera reaches 200 megapixelsaccompanied by a set similar to that of Galaxy Z Fold 7 for wide angle and telephoto lenses.

The Samsung W26 is exclusive to China and is sold through China Telecom. It starts at 16999 yuan for the 16/512 GB version and the price increases to 18999 yuan for the 16 GB/1 TB version. To the changewe are talking about an approximate range between 2200 and 2450 eurosalways without taxes or extras. For now there are no plans for global release. An important detail is that a W26 Flip version has not been announced this year, so the series is left with a single “book” model.
The W26 is not intended to replace the Galaxy Z Fold 7but raise it for an audience that looks for the most exclusive and does not mind paying extra for design, memory and satellite connectivity. If Samsung maintains this strategy, Europe will be left, for another year, without this variant. Would you like to see a Galaxy Z Fold global with satellite and 16 GB of RAM as standard?
