Age of Empire 4 was one of Microsoft’s biggest releases last year. Long-awaited by long-time fans, the game made a lot of noise when it was released, before quickly disappearing from the media. However, the latter still has some in his pocket to maintain the interest of the players. The proof is his surprise appearance last night, during the opening conference of Gamescom 2022.
Relic Entertainment’s RTS has indeed nestled in the middle of upcoming game trailers to reveal a little surprise prepared by the studio: two new playable civilizations at the start of the school year. These are the Malians and the Ottomans, both available from October 25th. And the icing on the gift: their addition will be totally free, in order to celebrate the anniversary of the game’s release.

Two new civilizations arrive in October in Age of Empires 4
As with the eight other civilizations in the game, these two newcomers will offer very different gameplay mechanics from each other. As the trailer below says so well “there is more than one way to win a battle”. Are you more the type to think ahead at all stages of your assault to be sure of winning? The Malians are made for you.
On the contrary, if you prefer to rush into the pile with big war machines and supercharged warriors, then you should appreciate the ardor of the Ottomans. Of course, each comes with its own set of classes and constructions. As you will have understood, it is therefore a whole new experience which is added to the civilizations already in existence, namely the French, the English, the Mongols, the Chinese, the Sultanate of Delhi, the Abbasid Caliphate, the Holy Empire Germanic Roman and the Rus’.
